In my youth, tattooing was a mysterious world to me... from bold Japanese bodysuits to creepy penitentiary sleeves. That's what made me seek it out. I've always had a love for history, travel, and the natural world. I try and incorporate elements of these into my work, when possible. I started tattooing in Buffalo, NY in 1993. After a year, I headed west to Los Angeles. I started tattooing at Old Pasadena Tattoo in '95 and worked at Lonesome Rose in Hollywood also. In 2002, my longtime colleagues and I opened Shogun Tattoo. We base our style on time-tested techniques.
